Hello lovelies!
I hope you’re all doing well. Autumn is here! I don’t know about you, but it’s my favourite season (*insert heart-eyes emoji*). I love the cosiness, the leaves turning, the colours, the snuggly jumpers, the scarves, the jackets, the boots, the bolder makeup looks, all things pumpkin spice… You get it, I love everything about Autumn!
So I thought I’d kick off a mini Autumn series here on the blog by sharing with you one of my go-to makeup looks for this season, using a copper eyeshadow from the most perfect eyeshadow palette ever (‘Tartelette in Bloom’). This whole look was done with copper-y/brick-y shades. I’ll show you all the products I used, and walk you through every step.

This is everything I used for this makeup look. First, I applied a light layer of the Coverage Foundation by The Ordinary. One of my favourite foundations, but I’m more of a light-medium coverage girl myself, so a little bit goes a long way with this one. I apply less than a pump with a brush, then go over it with my damp sponge (by Real Techniques) to make sure everything is blended out seamlessly.
I then applied concealer – I’ve been using this one by Bourjois called ‘Radiance Reveal Concealer’ (my thoughts on it coming your way later this month). I use a mini-sponge to apply my concealer as I find it gets to the inner corners much better than the regular one. Then set everything with MAC’s translucent powder using my sponge (the one I’d used for foundation).
For bronzer I used Bourjois’ ‘mat illusion bronzing powder’, which I applied to my cheeks, temples, nose, and a bit down my neck as well. For blusher I used the one from Revolution in the colour ‘Sugar’, which is a terracott-ish shade with a hint of pink (and yes, mine has seen better days in its past life!).
On to the fun bit – the eyes! I started by going in with the shade ‘Smarty Pants’ (you can tell I use it almost every day, I’ve hit pan!) all over the crease and bottom lash line. Followed that with some ‘Rebel’ in the outer third of the lid and of the bottom lash line. I then applied some deep brown pencil close to my top lashes (I used the one I have, an old one from Kiko, but feel free to use any that you have). I love going in with a pencil instead of with a liquid/gel liner! It allows you to be less precise, and you can smudge it by applying some eyeshadow on top. For today’s look I used the shade ‘Firecracker’, which is a gorgeous copper!
Then applied some mascara (Benefit’s ‘They’re Real) and, for the final touch, the MAC lippie in the shade ‘Creme in your coffee’ – perfect for Autumn! And voilà, the look was complete. Here’s the final result!

Would you recreate this look? What are some of your favourite looks/colours to wear in Autumn?
Thanks for reading!
Love,
Alice
Loved your autumn trend post! would you please consider writing one about brushes and sponges, and the way you use them with foundation. Best wishes! Sofia ❤
