Two Weeks of Lips: Autumn Lipsticks

Hello, lovelies!

How are you doing? I hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend 🙂

Today’s post begins my “Two Weeks of Lips”. That’s right, during both this week and the next one, all posts will be lips-related! #2WOL

And what better way to start this «saga» than with my 10 picks for Autumn (and Winter) Lipsticks from my collection! This varies from ‘your lips but better’ shades, to reds, berry and vampy. These are just my favourite colours to wear on my lips, no matter what time of the year it is.

Also, on this post I’ll be showing you swatches on my hand but if you’d like to see what they look like on the lips, then keep your eyes peeled for Wednesday’s post 😉

All my favourite Autumn Lipsticks (+ Pencils)

As you can see, I’m pretty basic when it comes to lips: I love the same colours, all year round – my berry-toned lipsticks and, most of all, my ‘your lips but better’ shades! Which is one of the reasons why I love Autumn so much, I get to wear berry lips and not be the freak wearing berry lips 😛

01-nars-bahama
Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in ‘Bahama’, NARS

I only got this in April but it immidiately made it’s way to my ‘Favourite Lipsticks’ of all time. It’s just the perfect colour, the perfect finish. It’s matte but a super comfortable and soft matte, doesn’t dry the lips or settles into all the little lines and cracks. It’s one of those colours that I use all year round, since it’s truly the ‘your lips but better’ shade for me ♥

02-mac-creme-in-your-coffee
Creme in Your Coffee (Cremesheen), MAC

This’ got to be my favourite MAC lipstick that I own! I’ll be honest, the colour’s pretty much identical to the NARS’ one that I just showed you, but it’s a cremesheen finish and that, for me, makes all the difference 😛

NARS’ will last longer on the lips, since it’s a matte and this’ a cremesheen. But this one looks slightly glossier without being sticky at all, it’s my favourite finish. It’s one of those lipsticks that you could almost apply without a mirror, it’s perfect for everyday!

03-the-balm-sincere
Meet Matt(e) Hughestm Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in ‘Sincere’, theBalm

I got this one very recently on my Feelunique Haul and it’s a great colour for Autumn. Slightly pinkier than the other two but still a great colour for everyday, all year round. I’ll give you a proper review on it next week, so stay tuned for that 😉

04-thebalm-charming
Meet Matt(e) Hughestm Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in ‘Charming’, theBalm

I know, I know, this looks almost the same as the one above, but I assure you it’s not. Think of this one as Sincere’s darker brother 😛 again, a great colour for everyday, and for all year round as well.

05-kat-von-d-lolita
Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in ‘Lolita’, Kat Von D

I feel like there isn’t much more to say about Lolita. I love the colour but I find it just a bit too drying for me. And it’s a colour that, for most people, it’s for all year round, but for me, since it’s more cool-toned and slightly darker, I tend to reach for it more when it’s colder.

Rouge Infusion in ’20 Dusty Rose’, Sephora

I can’t praise this lip stain enough! It’s the ‘lipstick’ that’s always on my bag (hence the it’s name having worn off), I always carry it with me because I know it always looks good, no matter what I’m wearing.

Depending on how much of it you apply, it can show up like you’ve got slightly berry-toned lips (almost like ‘your lips but better – berry edition’), or it can look darker, if you apply more. You can apply just a layer for the day and then apply a bit more for the evening. It’s just perfect! ♥

07-kiko-915
Smart Lipstick in ‘915 Mauve’, Kiko

I bought it about a year ago and it’s one of my favourite lipsticks that I own. I find it a great dupe for MAC Amorous, another one of my favourites. As with the previous one, you can apply a thin layer of it for a more daytime appropiate look, leaving you with a berry-ish lip that’s slightly on the purple side. And if you want it to be bolder, just apply a bit more and it will also look stunning!

It’s finish’s pretty similar to a Cremesheen, which is one of the reasons why I love it so much! And the price: it cost me like €3 / $3,30 / £2,75. How great is that? 😉

08-kiko-710
Smart Lip Pencil in ‘710 Rouge Noir’

As you must’ve already realised, I love me some berry-toned lips (and everything else, really. I just love the colour!). This one is berry and vampy, which is a heavenly combo! Again,I bought it about a year ago and, though I don’t usually tend to go out with a bold lip, if I did this would be one of them. Also, if you’re on the lookout for a good berry-toned lip pencil, this is it. It’s super affordable, creamy, pigmented and definitely worth the price!

09-sephora-13-plum-concentrate
Rouge Infusion in ’13 Plum Concentrate’, Sephora

Contrary to ’20 Dusty Rose’, this one still have its name on. That’s because, as I’ve just said, I don’t usually go out with a bold lip. I’m just not used to it… But after applying it for the pictures that are coming on Wednesday’s post, I knew exactly why I bought, why I fell in love with it. It was love at first swatch! 😛

I’m pretty sure I’ll be wearing bold lips more often with this one. Even my mother-in-law was like «it looks so pretty on you, I love the colour! Why don’t you wear it more often?» She was right, I’ll be wearing it more often!

10-kiko-309
Precision Lip Pencil in ‘309 Crimson Red’, Kiko

Couldn’t really be an Autumn (/ Winter) Lipsticks post without a red, could it? This one’s my favourite red that I own, I think it suits my skin tone better, it’s creamy, pigmented and the price, again, is just great.

As with the previous one, I don’t tend to wear red lips at all but I have to say, I loved how it looked for the next post. My mother-in-law had never seen me wearing a red lip so I went to her and asked what she thought and she was like «wow, it looks great!». I have to venture, it’s clear to me now 😛

Those are my picks for Autumn Lips, guys! What are yours? I’d love to know!

Love,

Alice ♥
