Hello, lovelies!
How are you doing? Hope you’ve all had a wonderful week π
I’m back in Portugal for holidays and my computer broke so I’m writing this post on my phone and I don’t know how it’s going to turn out so sorry about that π
Also, I’ll be away for the weekend so I probably won’t be able to write Monday’s post. Sorry about that as well
That all being said, as I got to my hometown, I discovered a new make-up store that I’d never heard about before. It’s called Wycon, it’s an Italian brand that’s pretty similar to Kiko, if you ask me, regarding both quality and price range.
I was actually planning on going to Kiko later on but I took the opportunity to buy the things I needed there so I could try their stuff and write about them. My mum also bought a couple of things so I decided it would be fun to show you guys our little haul π
This is everything we got: a nail polish and a moussy eyeshadow for mum; a translucent powder, a concealer and a liquid liner for me.
I must admit I was a little disappointed that they didn’t have like a felt-tip, sort of pen eyeliner (best description ever!). I mean, they did but they were waterproof and I’m not a fan of waterproof make-up.
Let’s start with what I got:
I am obsessed with this powder! π Seriously, it’s the best face powder I’ve ever tried! Being oily, I always struggle to find a powder that doesn’t make me look caky but leaves my skin looking matte-ish all day long. I used to love Kiko’s translucent powder (despite hating the packaging) but it was very powdery, it got in my nose very easily, which was very uncomfortable. This one’s so light and not powder-scented that I don’t even notice if it gets in my nose! Also, it leaves me with just the right amount of oil shinning through my skin throughout the day! If you’re looking for a face powder, I recommend checking this one!
It’s the ‘Fix & Matt’ and it costs β¬9,90 / $10,90 / Β£8,30.
I have mixed feelings about this one. I love the blackness and how thin it is, but I’m just not used to work with liquid liner, I find it more difficult. It’s a really good liner, though. I just have to get used to it…
It was β¬5,50 / $6,05 / Β£4,60.
This one I love! I got it in the lightest shade (they didn’t have many options, which I thought wasn’t great on them), but I love the consistency! It’s rather creamy and thick, but a good thick. I feel like it’s like the ‘Naked’ concealer that everyone has been raving on about for a couple of years but I’ve never tried. This one’s a nice affordable alternative π
It was also β¬5,50 / $6,05 / Β£4,60.
On to what mum got:
I think the colour of this nail polish is absolutely stunning! It’s a more lilac-y mauve that looks natural (I’ve only applied one coat) yet very elegant. It paints so well, it’s not stripy at all and dries very quickly.
It was β¬2,90 / $3,20 / Β£2,45 so I think it was great value for money!
The colour of this eyeshadow is to die for! π It’s a coppery-rose gold that is absolutely stunning, mostly so for Summer and if you have a bit of a tan going on. The only problem for me is that it’s waterproof, it’s a complete nightmare to remove!
It was β¬4,90 / $5,40 / $4,10.
And that’s it for our haul, guys! Do you know this brand? Have you tried anything from them?
Love,
Alice β€οΈ
Wow! That setting powder sounds incredibly good and matte finish is a must for any setting powder and it looks like it has literally nailed it

It really has! It amazes me how almost matte my skin looks after a whole day wearing make-up in the hot days we’ve been getting in Portugal! It’s a great product, my favourite powder I’ve ever used π xx

I need a good setting powder. I’ll look online at this oneβΊ aaw that’s the thing with waterproof. I don’t use waterproof mascaras or anything as I hate removing it. Unusual to see waterproof eyeshadow x

This one’s amazing! And I was talking about it with my mum today, telling her my thoughts one it, and she was like “where exactly was that, in the store?” π I think she’s going back there to buy one as well. Are you on the oily side as well? Ugh, same here. I hate removing waterproof make-up π xx

Yes too oily. But I can get dryness just around my nose. Blotting etc isn’t enough so I need a setting powderβΊ The idea of waterproof is good but I’d rather my makeup smudge than struggle to take off waterproof stuffπ x

Girl, I feel your pain! Have you tried giving it more moisture, though? I had a skincare expert telling me I was so oily because my skin was actually in desperate need of more water. Ever since I changed my skincare routine, my skin hasn’t been producing nearly as much oil!
Exactly! I love the idea behind waterproof but it’s not for me, I rather it smudging all over my face π xx

I do moisturise more now too, as I was using products to stop the oil and my skin got worse. It appears I’m just shiny haha. Haha smeared mascara is better than waterproof mascaraπ x

The setting powder’s perfect, I’m obsessed. I still haven’t run out of my Kiko one but I’ve not been reaching out for it ever since I got this one. That says a lot π the colour of the eyeshadow’s just gorgeous π as I said, the con for me is the fact that it’s waterproof, it’s a nightmare to remove it. Xx
