Enhancing Your Natural Beauty

Hello, lovelies.

How are you doing? Today’s post is about something that is mentioned pretty much everytime someone talks about make-up. Who has not met someone who told them something like “you are only using make-up to conceal the things you do not like about yourself”? I know I have…

But what those people fail to understand is that make-up should be used as a way of enhancing your natural beauty. And now some of you will be thinking “yeah, right, what beauty?” but, as someone who used to think that way, I can tell you that is all in your head. Make-up just gives you a boost of confidence. Sure, you can hide your imperfections, make your nose seem thinner or your forehead appear smaller… But it should only enhance what is already beneath it all, because that is what really matters.

Today I am sharing with you the products that make me feel like they enhance my beauty. For me, my problem has always been with my skin so I decided I had to take proper care of it. Also, because if your skin is not okay, no amount of make-up will look good on you. If your skin is dry, you will get dry patches; if it is oily, it will look like a greasy mess (and I got them both so I know what I am talking about).

Right now (because your skin’s needs change with your surrounding environment – seasons, heating, etc.), this is what works for me and makes my skin look great all day long!

First of all, I wash my face with this product, which has been my favourite for the past year. Then I go in with a cotton pad with two to three pumps of the Rituals’ Ultra Calming Facial Toner, and clean my skin with it. After that, the star of the show: Rituals’ Intense Moisture Serum (I talked about it on my previous post, so you can read that for more information).

Then it depends: I apply The Body Shop’s Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream in the morning and The Body Shop’s Vitamin E – Aqua Boost Sorbet for my night time routine.

As a boost of hydration, I also spray my face with The Body Shop’s Vitamin E – Face Mist a few times a day, mostly after my Aqua Boost Sorbet and before going to bed.

If you live in the U.S. (if not, check them out anyway), you should definitely check out Glossier! They are a brand of skincare (and make-up) products, developed by my fellow blogger Emily Weiss from Into The Gloss. They strongly believe in the idea of enhancing your natural beauty instead of covering it up, and their products are paraben free and not tested on animals, which are two very important details. They have a great starter kit, both detoxifying and hydrating face masks, cleansers, moisturisers, and a super hydrating balm that you can apply to any dry areas you want to (lips, cuticles, you name it!)!

If you are curious (and you should be!!!), just click here and allow yourself to be amazed!

What about you, guys? I would love to know what you do to enhance your natural beauty, which are your favourite products!

Love,

Alice ❤
