Best Beauty Products of 2015

Hello, lovelies!

How are you doing? Today I leave you with my choices for the best products of the past year. I know, it is already February 2016, I am a bit late on the subject. This post was meant to go up by the end of December but, as I told you on my previous post, I recently moved back to my hometown and I have no internet access there (I am currently at my grandma’s, where I am writing and scheduling the next 15 posts!).

But enough rambling and on to what matters: my list consists of products I have acquired last year, not necessarily products that were launched in 2015. With that in mind, I hope you enjoy this post 🙂

(Though I have the products ordered by number, it does not necessarily mean my order of preference, it is just my OCD 😛 )

#1: My own eyeshadow palette

1 - My own palette
My own eyeshadow palette

I raved about this palette quite recently but, in case you missed it, I tell you all about it here. Though I only finished filling it up in December, I could already tell it was one of my favourite products not only of the year, but for the years to come as well. I love it, it is perfect!

#2: ‘Naturally Yours’ eyeshadow palette, Zoeva

2 - zoeva naturally yours
Zoeva – ‘Naturally Yours’

Again, I wrote a post about this palette a while ago so, if you are interested in reading that, just click here. This palette is stunning! As a big fan of warm-toned eyeshadows, you can see how this one had to make it to the list. You get perfect crease colours for every skin tone, mattes, shimmers, golds, coppers, dark browns… Ugh, it is simply perfect!

#3: Kiko Smart Lipstick in ‘915 Mauve’

3 - Kiko smart lipstick in 915

I tell you more about this lipstick in a previous post (here) but I just find this to be not only the perfect colour for Autumn/Winter, but the perfect formula for me as well. It is pretty much a tinted lip balm on steroids, which is great because you get the benefits of a lip balm with the pigmentation of a lipstick. Another great thing about it is that you can build the intensity up, meaning you can get either just a wash of colour or a full on lip!

#4: Kiko Lip Pencil in ‘710 Rouge Noir’

Again, the perfect lip option for Autumn/Winter. I do not usually go for a dark lip but, when I do, it is this one – I love it!

*

#5: L’Oréal Super Liner – Perfect Slim (eyeliner)

This eyeliner made my life so much easier! Before I found it, I loved eyeliner (specially a good cat eye) but was never able to do it, found it too difficult and messy and I always ended up with both eyes looking nothing alike. This eyeliner changed everything! It just glides on, allows you to draw either the thinnest line you could possibly want or the boldest, it really is up to you. It is not patchy at all and the thin felt tip is perfect for winging out the line and giving you the perfect cat eye!

#6: ‘Roller Lash’ Mascara, Benefit

9 - Roller Lash mascara

This mascara is everything you could possibly want and more! I find that it elongates my lashes, separates them and provides both volume and definition! Use it every time I do my make-up.

#7: Bourjois’ Blush in ’41 Healthy Mix’

I just love this blush (duh! Alice, it is your ‘best products of the year’ list)! It is coral and matte (I hate applying shimmery/sparkly products on my face), and everyone needs a coral blush in their lives, right? 😉

#8: Vitamin E – Aqua Boost Sorbet, The Body Shop

12 - TBS Aqua boost
Vitamin E – Aqua Boost Sorbet, The Body Shop

I have talked about this moisturiser quite a few times already (mine is almost empty, though, and it breaks my heart). This was recommended to me by a professional make-up artist that taught us about Make-up and Skincare when I took my Styling Course. She explained to me that my skin was overproducing oil because it actually was in desperate need of more water (the balance of water and oil on our faces should always be around 50-50). So I went and bought it and began noticing the difference on my skin short after.

#9: Vitamin E – Face Mist, The Body Shop

13 - TBS Face mist
Vitamin E – Face Mist, The Body Shop

Again, this was another product that was recommended to me by the same specialist. I was to apply this about 5 times a day at first and when the skin was balanced again, I could start using it only a couple of times a day. This one is also almost almost empty (I cry!) but definitely worth repurchasing!

#10: Skin Perfection Purifying Gel Wash, L’Oréal

14 - L'Oreal face wash
Skin Perfection Purifying Gel Wash, L’Oréal

Phew! Such a long name! But I discovered this face wash during the Spring and have been using it since, day and night, to wash my face (genius!). It is great at removing make-up and leaves your skin quite clean and feeling very soft. There is also a version of this for those with normal to sensitive skin, which I have heard is also great.

And there you have it, guys! My favourite products of the year. I would love to know yours! And also, have you tried any of these?

Love,

Alice ❤

    1. They really do work! They have gotten a bit more expensive lately than they were before but they are definitely worth every penny! You should give them a try 🙂 thanks for commenting. xx

    1. I definitely recommend Kiko’s lipsticks! I own and have tried quite a few and they’re all great. I specially love these smart lipsticks because they have the perfect formula for me – they’re very moisturising and the pigmentation is buildable. I only have two of them: ‘918 Classic Rose’, which is the perfect ‘your lips but better’ colour for me; and then this one, ‘915 Mauve’, which is a gorgeous berry colour.
They have 35 shades, from every colour of nude you can imagine, to purples, oranges, reds, browns, you name it! I recommend you give them a try, specially because they are so affordable.
Let me know if you do try any of them, telling me what you thought of it 🙂 xx
